"Divorced, beheaded, died.....divorced, beheaded, survived" Willing wives all. Six very different women are inexorably linked through jealousies and rivalry in the great game of marrying the King of England. The story begins in Spain. Music and chronicles of the day are interwoven in this new music-theatre piece to bring the women's perspective to the life and times of Henry VIII. Using music and text of the time, experience that Friday morning on Tower Green when Queen Ann was brought to execution. Join in the street revelries at the birth of Prince Edward. La Brigata will combine music and drama in a colourful piece of staged music theatre full of tragedy and pathos but also humorous. The music is interwoven with diary extracts and letters from Henry and his wives. Spectacular music and colourful drama this is a programme for all the family - children must be accompanied. The piece lasts just over an hour and can either be presented on its own or as the second half of a full concert programme.
